Woohoo! The li’l hitch that plagued us for almost a fortnight is resolved! The Department sat down for one boisterous brainstorming session after another and gave up all ideas of finding a name for the Club. Trust me, though it was a laugh riot, rubbishing each other’s suggestions, it wasn’t one bit comforting when eager kids came up to you and asked, “Ma’am, have we got a club name yet?”
The best we could come up with was, “Oh we will, soon enough.” Ahem. And we knew we were nowhere near a consensus on what to name our little federation. So as time passed, the ideas only got more desperate. Or silly. We thought of going for the very staid and prosaic “English Literary Club’ (ELA). We discussed all the suggestions sent in by readers. We even thought of throwing chits of paper to select a name. Only there was nothing to write on them.
So the last round of names was called for. I liked ‘The Sonneteers’. Had a nice ring to it. Musical like poetry, Romantic like the Musketeers. Hehe. And of course, there were a host of others. VIBGYOR being one. It was suggested that we make an acronym with it. I could only think of ‘VETO the IDEA’. Never went beyond the ‘I’. Maybe if I was pressed further, I would have gone further with ‘Veto the Idea Bravely, Go Yell Or Rant (But please DON’T let the club be called that!) LOL. Okay. I might not survive after this. For all I know, the person who suggested the idea might be reading this! I am being really brave here. Ahem.
Soooo. What DID we settle for??? Now readers shouldn’t get too anticipatory. You always tend to get disappointed in the end. So if you don’t like our final name- oh well, I just don’t care! LOL. For one, it’s the only name on which the six of us could look eye to eye on without the usual glaring. Secondly, ‘I’ suggested the name and I have no more ideas left. So there.
Our quaint club is now called…(TADAAAAA!) the ‘WORDSMITHS GUILD’.

Yep. Take it or leave it. That’s what it’s called now. And the members are all, of course, ‘THE WORDSMITHS’. The wall-magazine board now termed ‘The Wordsmith’s Nook’ and so on. The activities have begun rolling out and the kids seem to be enjoying it. Oh yes! There’s another little thingy the Department’s workin’ on, but it’s all so hush-hush at the moment. Top secret you know. Can’t tell yet. And that’s sooooo hardddddd!!! 
Oh well. I guess I have just gotto wait! LOL. Toodle-loo till then!
